Cleaning the Refrigerator
You know its time to clean out the fridge when you can't even
recognize some of the items in the back. Following are a few tips
to get your refrigerator sparkling.
Mix together 8 cups water, and ½ cup baking soda. Use this mixture
with a cloth to wipe down the handle and outside of the
refrigerator.
Remove all items from the fridge. And throw out anything that is
old or past its expiration date. Write down items that you will
need to pick up at the store. Wipe up any containers that are
sticky or have spills on them.
Use a mixture of ½ cup vinegar, and ½ gallon water to clean out the
inside of the fridge. After the fridge is clean put a little bit of
glycerin on a cloth and wipe it over the shelves. This will make it
easier to clean up spills later. If you have a drip pan remove it
and clean it. Take out any drawers and clean them with dish soap in
the sink.
If you need to remove odors from the fridge the cleaning mixture
should begin this process, but you can also place a small amount of
dry cat liter in a bowl or baking soda and leave it in the fridge.
These two items will absorb any odors.
To clean the top of the fridge put 3 tablespoons of water and 1
tablespoon of liquid fabric softener in a spray bottle. Spray the
mixture on the top of the fridge and use a cloth to wipe off the
dust and dirt.
Vacuum underneath the fridge making sure to get dust and dirt off
of the condenser coils.
