How to Create Your Very Own Spa Experience at Home

Spread the love

Going to a spa can be one of the greatest pleasures in life, the only problem is that they can be awfully expensive. For a massage and an overnight stay, you could expect to pay hundreds! To help you get that relaxed, euphoric feeling at home, this guide will help you to create your own spa experience:

Create Your Very Own Spa Experience at Home

Listen to a Relaxing Playlist

You can either choose some of your favourite relaxing music, or select a playlist that’s ready made on Spotify. You can listen to some classic spa sounds, or even some nature sounds as you relax and unwind. This is one of the best things about creating your own spa experience at home, and you may even find that you like dropping off to this music! If I’m ever struggling to get to sleep, I pop some of this music on and it really helps.

Dim the Lights

Dim the lights down as low as you can go without bumping into things. If you don’t have dimmer switches, then you may need to invest in a few lamps to light your way to different rooms.

Light Some Scented Candles

Candles will help you to see in the dimmed light, but perfumed candles will add to the spa ambiance that you’re trying to create. If you want only the best candles, then try Yankee candles. They have a massive range of different scents, ranging from ‘Clean Cotton’ to ‘Turquoise Sky’. If you haven’t discovered them yet, make sure you do. You’ll be glad you did!

Run a Bubble Bath

A long, hot, luxurious bubblebath will help you to feel like you’re in a real life spa. Make sure you have plenty of candles and music in the bathroom ready for your bath, and pour in loads of bubbles under the hot, running water. You may even want to add salts and essential oils to your bath. Different salts and oils claim to do different things, so select yours depending on how you’d like to feel.

Apply a Warming Facemask

While you’re in the bath, or even after exiting, apply a warming facemask. You can exfoliate and cleanse beforehand to prepare your skin before smoothing it on with your fingers. I love Montagne Jeunesse ‘Vanilla Fudge’ – it smells good enough to eat. Just try to resist!

Eat a Light but Tasty Lunch

Spas are famous for serving quality yet light food. A lunch would probably consist of some salmon or chicken, and a nice big, crunchy salad.

Relax With a Magazine or Good Book

Once you’ve fed yourself and had a bit of a pamper, feel free to relax and read a magazine or a good book. You may want to look at a range of dressing gowns and select the most fluffy, comfortable one you can find for relaxing in.

If you have a partner, you could even get them involved in the experience. Why not offer a massage in exchange for one? You’ll feel relaxed and revived in no time!
