Michelle Obama Inauguration Day Dress & Gown
Michelle Obama carried forward her image of a fashionably sophisticated woman and one of the most stylish first ladies (actually only the second most stylish after Jackie Kennedy) by dressing up boldly for the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th president of United States.
Brands and Details
For the inauguration ceremony earlier in the day on January 20th 2009, Michelle Obama chose a shiny yellow-green (bending towards mustard green) dress and matching overcoat made using the exquisite guipure French lace designed by Isabel Toledo. She complimented the outfit with leather gloves and shoes and a stunning crystal choker necklace.

Later that evening, the First Lady changed into a white, one-shoulder, floor length gown by designer Jason Wu for the Neighborhood Ball in the Washington Convention Center as she danced with president Barack Obama on Beyonce’s rendering of Etta James’ “At Last” for their first dance. She completed her look and the perfect coiffed Bob with long crystal drop earrings and sparkling bangles.
