6 Fantastic Careers in the Health and Fitness Industry

1. Nutritionist

A nutritionist specialises in telling people what to eat, in Laymen’s terms. This could be based on many different things. Usually, a client will discuss their goals with you and you’ll write a meal plan for them accordingly. Their goal could be to bulk up, slim down, or to experience less bloating. Whatever it is, it’ll be your job to personalise a plan for them.

2. Personal Trainer

A personal trainer can work in a health club, gym, or for themselves. Wherever you decide to work, the more results you get, the better. It helps if you look like a personal trainer too – somebody who looks out of shape won’t get many clients. You will need to personalise plans tailored to your clients and motivate them to continue. You may also want to record their results so you can tell them how far they’ve come. You’ll need personal trainer insurance too, just in case one of your clients becomes injured using your methods. You can’t be too careful!

3. Fitness Instructor

A fitness instructor and a personal trainer are not the same thing. A personal trainer usually focuses on one on one sessions, while a fitness instructor teaches group classes, such as spin. You may not need to have as many qualifications as a personal trainer. You should also be able to move up the career ladder in future.

4. Coach

You could be a coach of many different things. You may be a sports coach for a team, or maybe even a bodybuilding coach. This will mean you instruct your clients on how to improve their game/bodies in order to win. You won’t need to participate, just give them the best advice and critique them where they need it.

5. Chiropractor

A chiropractor is a lifesaver when it comes to sore joints and muscles. You’ll need to help your clients get into all kinds of funny positions to release tension and make them feel better. This should increase their mobility and well being too! It can be painful for your clients, but this is normal.

6. Massage Therapist

A massage therapist focuses on more relaxing treatments for tense muscles. Massage is the perfect treatment for people who are really into their workouts. Massage will drain their toxins, soothe their muscles, and improve their performance. It can also be relaxing for you too!
