These 10 scholarships are targeted toward women, focused on empowering them to lead exciting professional careers.

1. Nancy Etz Scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship award is available for one student from an accredited college or university. The student may be enrolled at the graduate or undergraduate level on a full-time basis, or they may be a rising high school senior who has been accepted to a college or university. The Nancy Etz scholarship is focused on individual empowerment. To apply, students must write a 500-word essay on the following topic: “Discuss a special attribute or accomplishment that sets you apart.” The deadline is February 1, 2021.

2. Girls Inc. National Scholarship

Girls Inc. was created in 1864 to help young women after the Civil War. The organization grew into a robust national organization that speaks out for women and works to question stereotypes. The Girls Inc. National Scholarship is generous, in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 annually. The scholarship is intended for graduating seniors in the United States and Canada who have attended a Girls Inc. affiliate.

3. Adobe Research Women in Technology Scholarship

Adobe Research develops programs for Adobe Systems, a popular developer responsible for such programs as Photoshop and Illustrator. The Adobe Research Women in Technology Scholarship is a generous award of $10,000. Women who have exceptional talent in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field may apply. Women who are offered the scholarship will also be given the opportunity to interview for an internship. Applications begin on November 12, 2020 and end on December 4, 2020.

4. Eileen Kraus Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame. All female graduating high school students from the state of Connecticut are eligible to apply. Selection is based on academic performance and community engagement. If students are awarded the scholarship, they will receive a one-time award of $5,000. Scholarship applications will open on January 1, 2021.

5. Leslee Andree Hanna Medical Scholarship

The Daughters of the American Revolution or DAR offer a wide range of scholarships for medical and professional fields. This scholarship is intended for women who are attending medical school. The $5,000 award is given on the basis of academic merit. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. Students may reapply for the scholarship if they win, but they are not guaranteed to win again.

6. The Mildred C. Hanson, SIOR Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to assist qualified female applicants who are interested in working in commercial real estate. This fund provides a $4,000 scholarship to a rising junior or senior enrolled in a Real Estate, Business, or Finance degree. The deadline for this scholarship is November 30, 2020.

7. ESA Foundation Scholarship Program for Minority Students

The Entertainment Software Association Foundation was created to promote the future of video gaming and entertainment software. The Foundation works on a variety of programs designed to attract students to study in related fields. The ESA Foundation Scholarship Program for Minority Students is intended to attract women and other minority groups to the video game industry. Applications are due on March 2, 2020, and the award is worth $3,000.

8. AFWM Ford Empowering America Scholarship

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation offers this scholarship to young women who are working in media fields or who are interested in media careers. This is a nationwide award. Women are selected based on an interview that they submit as part of their application. They are asked to interview a prominent woman in their community. The award is available to a winner for $3,000 and to a runner-up for $2,000.

9. Chris Andersen WomenLead Scholarship

This is a faith-based scholarship intended for women who are interested in working in Christian ministry. The scholarship program recognizes the need for diverse women of faith to engage with the community. Two $3,000 awards are available to Christian women in graduate school. The award process will begin in the spring of 2021.

10. BHW Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to female students who are interested in the STEM fields. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) The BHW Group acknowledges that the tech workforce can be less than diverse, and it hopes to encourage better representation by giving its scholarship. The $3,000 award is available to undergraduate and master’s degree students majoring in STEM fields. Applications are due April 15, 2021.
