Clay Crafting Tips
Never work on a wooden surface. Polymer clay will damage a wooden table.
Because polymer clay easily collects dirt, keep your hands, tools, and work surface clean. Some types of glue have adverse reactions to polymer clay.
Condition the clay before you start to work with it. Knead it well in your warm hands.
Use only a polymer clay-safe varnish. Use a high-quality, soft-bristled flat brush to apply the varnish. Use minimal strokes when applying varnish to avoid bubbling.
Before using a mold, lightly coat the mold with cornstarch, water or Armor-All to prevent the clay from sticking.
