Kitchen Bridal Shower Gift Set – Towel, Mittens & Pot Holders: DIY Sewing Project
Detailed instructions for making a Kitchen Bridal Shower Gift Set complete with Towel, Mittens and Pot Holders. Great idea for giving as a gift to a bride-to-be at a Kitchen themed Bridal Shower.
Materials Needed:
- 1-1/2 yds light pink printed terry fabric
- 1/2 yd white fabric for bias binding + towel handle
- thermal batting
- satin ribbon
- lining for mittens
- 1″piece of Velcro
Directions:
Kitchen Towel
1. Cut a piece of printed fabric 13″x16″.
2. Sew bias binding on 2 long sides and one short side.
3. Cut 2 pieces from white fabric. See diagram. 4. Sew on 3 sides keeping the broad end open to turn. Turn inside out.
5. Pleat the printed fabric at the non-bound end and fit it into the open end of the flap and sew.
6. Fold the handle over and attach Velcro, thus forming a handle for the towel to hang.
Pot Holders
1. Cut 4 pcs. of fabric 4″x9″. Also cut batting of same size.
2. Place between fabric and quilt. 3. Join the edges with bias binding making a loop for hanging.
Mittens
1. Cut – 4 pcs. printed fabric, 4 pcs. batting, 4 pcs. lining
2. Layer printed fabric+batting+lining.
3. Sew binding on the lower edge of the pattern.
4. Join 2 pcs. together with binding, thus making a glove.
5. Repeat with the other two pieces also.
6. Embellish with satin ribbon bows.
