5 Things to Organize Before Your Caravan Trip

Spread the love

Heading off on a caravan trip is one of the most exciting adventures of your life, and will open your world up to loads of new experiences. Ensuring that everything is in order before you head off is an important part of making the trip one that you can look back on with fond memories. Whether you are going for a short or long time you will want to prepare yourself so that you can leave home with the knowledge that everything is in order. Here are 5 things to organize before heading off on your caravan trip.

5 Things to Organize Before Your Caravan Trip

Vehicle Servicing

This is probably the most important thing of all. The last thing you want is to find yourself stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a vehicle issue and not knowing where to start with getting yourself back on the road. Do make sure that your vehicle and caravan are all in good working order and that you have the relevant details in order just in case something happens. Having a current RACQ membership is one way to ensure that you won’t be left high and dry by the roadside, and a satellite phone is also a good way to ensure that you will be able to phone for help. Taking spare water and oil is also a good idea.

Packing Essentials

Packing everything that you may need on the trip will take a bit of forethought, and will save you a lot of worry as you embark on your journey. Make a list so you don’t forget anything, and ensure that you pack food supplies and enough warm clothes and blankets just in case the weather gets ugly. Take plenty of drinking water as well as some for the car, as you never know what might happen when you are on the road.

Storage

If you are going for a long time, or a short one then there may be things that you need to store for when you get back. One way to do this is to hire a storage room to keep all of your important and valued belongings safe and sound so they will be waiting for you on your return. Fort Knox Brisbane is a storage facility where you can hire a storage room for your needs, whether long term or short.

GPS/Maps

Having up to date maps is so important if you want to have a smooth journey. RACQ members can get maps for free from an RACQ centre. A GPS is a great way of always knowing where you are, even if you can’t find yourself on the map. They are relatively well priced and are worth every penny if it helps you to negotiate out of a sticky situation or get back on the road you need to be on.

Emergency Contacts

Prepare ahead of time with some emergency contacts so you know that there is someone out there who knows where you are going, and when you are due to arrive. This is important as they are the one who will send out the search party to find you if you go missing.
