Why the Southwest is the Perfect Holiday Destination
There is nothing like the feeling of going on a vacation somewhere whether it is a short break to somewhere local or for a few weeks to a different country, and this is because these vacations are all about indulgence. You have the time to do exactly what you feel like doing whether it is going for a bit of an adventure or simply lounging around and getting stuck into a book, and you don’t have to think about work or anything else like that for a while.
I personally love going on breaks to places around the UK, as there are all kinds of terrific areas with breathtaking scenery to take in without having to go overseas. The UK is packed full of great towns and villages to visit, each with their own unique personality which you get to know once you are there.
One great area to head down to is the southwest, as here there are scenic places like Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset to visit, and there are all sorts of things to see and do in these places.
You could head down to the coast for a bit of surfing or simply watching the ocean, there are lots of fantastic walks and adventures to go on, all sorts of little towns with cosy pubs and restaurant plus lots, lots more.
Finding the Best Places to Stay
When looking for a place to stay I think that your best bet is to go with self catering holiday cottages, as this way you can really make it feel like you are at home and get comfortable.
As well as this, you may also be able to bring your dog along with you, and they will certainly enjoy the surroundings and brilliant walks that are available. Finding the nicest cottages may seem difficult at first, but thankfully there are resources that allow you to find exactly what you are looking for. This is through companies like Helpful Holidays, who list all of the best self catering cottages in the area and collect all the information for you to easily make a decision.
Once this decision has been made you will be all set for your break away, and you are sure to love your trip whether you spend it sitting round the cottage and relaxing, or getting out and about and exploring the town.
