Spread the love

Knee pain isn’t pleasant, and in many cases it can affect a person’s quality of life. You want to be able to do all of the things you love to do; whether that’s running, hiking, or bungee jumping. Try these 7 unusual ways to ease your knee pain and go back to living your life:

7 Unusual Ways to Ease Your Knee Pain

1. Take Care of Your Feet

If you have a problem with your feet, your knees can be affected too. Take a look at them and see if you can notice any immediate problems; perhaps you have an issue with overpronation, or a rolling inward foot? It’s important we take care of our feet, so get some custom made shoe inserts to help.

2. Stretch Your Legs

Stretching your entire leg in different ways can be a great way to ease the pain on your knees. Practice different hamstring, thigh, and calf stretches to ease tension in your legs. Do this regularly for the best result.

3. Lose Weight

If we carry excess weight, excess pressure can be put on our knees whenever we stand, walk, or run. If you suspect you might need to lose weight, go to your doctor and make sure it’s safe for you to start a health and fitness regime. You should find a low impact exercise that you enjoy, like swimming.

4. Practice Meditation

Enough rest and relaxation is essential. Meditation is a great way to relax us and help to keep us feeling positive, so practice it and watch the great benefits it has on your life. There are plenty of tutorials online that will help you if you aren’t sure how to start, so you can begin straight away with confidence.

5. Go to Sleep

Getting more sleep is a great way to ease pain all over the body, not just the knees. Failing to get enough sleep will not only put us under stress and leave us unable to function properly, but enhance any pain we’re in too.

6. Go Shoe Shopping

The shoes you’re wearing could be affecting your knee pain more than you know. You shouldn’t wear high heels, or even flat shoes with no support. All of your shoes need to be comfortable with adequate support to help your knee recover.

7. Apply Kinesio Tex Tape

This special tape is great for knee pain, shin splints, and other issues in the leg. It might look strange, but it helps the knee by pulling the skin up tighter and allows blood flow to get to the injured area better. The great thing about it is that it doesn’t limit range of motion while it helps heal your knee. It lasts up to 5 days, even in the shower and comes in a range of colours. Cool, huh?

So it turns out all you need to do to heal your knee pain is meditate, go shopping, and wear some funky looking tape on the injured area. Don’t forget to do your stretches either! Have any of these methods worked for you? Let us know in the comments!
