Beef Recipes – Salisbury Steaks
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef 1/3 cup bread crumbs 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 egg 1 large onion (sliced) 1 10 1/2 oz. can beef broth 1 4 1/2 oz. can mushrooms 2 tbsp. cold water 2 tbsp. cornstarch
Method:
Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper,& egg together. Shape into 4 oval patties, about 3/4 inch thick. cook patties in a large skillet over medium heat until browned on both sides. About 10 minutes. Drain. Add onion, broth, & mushrooms. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover & simmer 10 minutes. Remove patties to a warm oven. Heat onion mixture to boiling. Mix water & cornstarch together. Stir into onion mixture. Boil 1 minute. Pour over patties. Make some mashed potatoes & a salad & you have a meal.
Makes 4 patties
