Fishbowl Baby Shower Centerpiece cum Gift Idea
This pretty decorated fishbowl serves as a beautiful centerpiece for a baby shower as well as a memorable and practical gift for the mommy-to-be. A great alternative to diaper cakes.
We made this for a baby boy, hence the blue color. You can use pink for a girl or other baby colors like yellow or purple if the sex of the baby is not known.
What you will need:
- 1 9″ fish bowl
- 12 x 12 inch piece of fur
- 2 yards. white and blue ribbon (or other color)
- String of blue beads (or other color)
- assorted sizes of wire beads
- 1 5″ plastic or aluminum ring
- 6″ piece of silver net
- 1 ceramic trinket
- Stuff for the baby – diapers, lotions, soaps, booties etc. or to pamper the mom-to-be
Decorating the Bowl
Clean and wash the bowl clean and dry well. Cut the fur into a five petal flower. Spread it out, place the bowl in the center of it and glue the fur to the bowl it on the sides. Glue the string of blue beads along the outline of the fur to enhance the flower petal outline. Ruffle the blue and white lace to form a frill and stick it along the mouth of the bowl.
Making the Lid
To make the lid, cover the aluminum/plastic ring with the silver net, gather the edges together and tie at the top. Hot glue the ceramic trinket in the centre of the ring. Make droplets with the different sized white beads and glue on to the sides using a glue gun.
Now, stuff the fishbowl with gifts for the mommy-to-be. It could be useful gifts for the baby like diapers, lotions, soaps etc. or chocolates, candy and spa stuff for the mom. You can also add a gift tag in the shape of a shirt or a dress.
