Cranberry and Apple Pie
This pie has a chunky apple and cranberry filling that is perfect for Christmas dinner or other holiday gatherings.
Ingredients:
1. 2 ½ lbs apples, peeled cored, and sliced 1/4 inch thick
2. ½ cup dried cranberries
3. 1/3 cup sugar
4. 2 Tablespoons flour
5. ¼ teaspoons cinnamon
6. Pinch ground nutmeg
7. 2 pie crusts
8. Cool whip
Method:
1. Mix apples, cranberries, sugar, flour, and spices together in a large bowl.
2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
3. Place one of the pie crusts in a pie pan.
4. Spoon apple and cranberry mixture into the pie crust.
5. Place the second pie crust on top.
6. Roll the pie crust edges together.
7. Brush pie crust with egg white and sprinkle sugar on top.
8. Bake for 25 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven and cover with aluminum foil.
10. Bake for 15 more minutes.
11. Remove pie and allow it to cool.
12. Serve with cool whip.
