Grilled Watermelon and Mango Appetizer – Fresh fruity bites for Fourth July or Summer Parties
Two of the most favored summer fruits are grilled and sandwiched with cheese to make bite-sized delight.
Ingredients:
- Watermelon – cut into 1/2 inch (height) squares
- Mango – cut into 1/2 inch (height) squares
- Processed Cheese Slices
- Olive Oil for brushing
- Cilantro for garnish
Directions:
Cut cheese slices into 4 squares. Use these squares to measure and cut squares of watermelon and mango.
Brush olive oil on both sides of watermelon and mango and grill them for 20 minutes. If grilling in an oven, use a drip pan to catch the juices.
Sandwich cheese squares between grilled watermelon and mango squares and grill or broil for 30 seconds. The cheese will melt enough to fuse the two fruits together.
Garnish with cilantro and serve.
