How to Make Candy Shapes

Basic Candy Shapes
Candy Shapes are used to decorate cakes on almost every theme. Here, we show you how to make your own candy shapes to decorate cakes and cupcakes.
Supplies you will need:
Melting Candies e.g Wilton Candy Melts
Candy Molds
Food Color (optional)
Directions:
Melt the candies according to directions given on the package. If you need colored candies, add food color to the melted candy. Pour candy into molds slowly. Tap the mold gently to release air bubbles, if any. Freeze the candy until hard. It will take about 15 to 30 minutes.
Remove the candies from the molds. To remove, place a flat surface on top of molds and gently turn over. Tap the bottom of the molds to release. If desired, you can paint your molds with petal dust.
Candy Seashells:

Follow the instructions above for making shapes and use seashell rubber candy molds to make the shapes. Use white or neutral colors and then dust with silver petal dust to make the shells glisten.
