Seafood Shells, Christmas Party Appetizers
Use real shells as little shell shaped ovenproof dishes to from the pastry shapes.
Serves 8
Ingredients:
13 oz (370g) pkt puff pastry, just thawed 8 oz (225 g) button mushrooms, sliced 8 oz (225 g) peeled prawns, thawed if frozen 1 oz ( 25 g) butter 5 tablesp dry white wine 5 tablesp single cream 2 tablesp chopped parsley salt and ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Roll out pastry thinly. Use to line eight greased scallop shells. Prick with a fork. Chill before baking (400deg F, 200 deg C, Gas 6) 10 mins. 2. Cool. Remove from shells. Slice pastry shells in half. 3. Fry mushrooms and prawns in butter 1 min. Add wine, cook 2 mins. Add rest of ingredients.
To serve: reheat pastry shells 2 mins in hot oven. Spoon hot filling in shell bases. Place lid on top.
