Late night Christmas Eve shopping is the last thing on anyone’s list, but sometimes it has to be done, and done well. There is nothing worse than your friend or relative opening their gift and realising it is something you’ve picked up from the garage the night before. Knitted, crocheted things may be a little tacky, but if it is a beanie hat or a nice pair of fingerless gloves, it might be the right way to go for your intended recipient. Arts and crafts can appear a little kid-like, and recently the popularity of photo frames has declined because of the preference for social media. Getting handy with sewing, and sewing a neat little money pouch or a phone pocket could be a cute way to show your love.

It might sound clichéd, but jewellery is still a very popular form of present at Christmas time. However nowadays there are so many online shops and stores on the high street that offer bespoke jewellery or niche jewellery that is reminiscent of TV series or video games. Plus, if your recipient isn’t that much of a jewellery fan but appreciates the odd bracelet here and there, it can come across as a well thought out gift if you buy a piece of jewellery that is tailored to their interests or uniquely personalised.

Music and songs resonate on an incredibly personal level with most people, so there are bound to be songs that you share with that particular person that bring up good memories. Perhaps an important event you attended or a school dance. With music, there are so many ways to express your feelings, the possibilities are endless.
Or better still, you can avoid the whole issue by setting your phone to give you regular notifications about gifts or jobs you may have forgotten! It always helps to get a reminder in the first place in order to avoid running around last minute.
