(NC)Where’s your next adrenalin rush coming from? At Walt Disney World, there are so many high-octane, thrilling choices.
Journey to space for rides that are truly a blast. Mission: Space is a true dose of reality, with guests being launched into virtual orbit, then landing on Mars. Even real-life astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Canadian Roberta Bondar have tried it. Don’t forget Space Mountain. It has been exciting roller coaster enthusiasts since 1975 with its twists and turns through darkness.
For thrill seekers, a visit to Disney-MGM Studios is a must. It’s home to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, featuring a 13-storey plunge in a haunted hotel elevator, as well as the Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith with its high-speed launch of 0-57 mph in just 2.8 seconds.
Some speed enthusiasts like their thrills wet. Crush ‘n’ Gusher at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has riders zooming down slippery, curvy slides on inflatable rafts.
Next year, Disney’s thrill quotient zooms with the opening of Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This high-speed train adventure showcases coaster-calibre thrills and encounters with the yeti, the Himalayan Mountains’ mystical beast.
