5 Celebrities Who Insured Their Body Parts For Millions
It is important each individual person gets the right insurance for their needs, so they can deal with unexpected situations. The everyday person will insure the contents of their home, their car, perhaps their phone or business, if they have one. What they aren’t likely to insure are their feet, voice or chest hair.
However, when it comes to celebrities their body is part of their livelihoods and sometimes a particular part of that body is imperative to their career. Perhaps a footballer’s legs, a pianist’s hands, or if you are Jennifer Lopez, your bum, just because it has become ‘your thing.’
If anything were to happen to this particular part of your body it could result inbeing out of work and therefore losing a huge amount of money. So, of course, these body parts don’t only need to be insured, they need to be insured for huge sums of money.
Here are five high worth individuals who have insured a part of their body for millions:
Taylor Swift
Body Part Insured: Legs
For: $40 million
Taylor Swift, who has become as famous for her long toned legs as she has for her singing,is often pictured with her pins on display. However, what she really relies on them for is dancing, which is a big part of her stage performance.
Jennifer Lopez
Body Part Insured: Bottom
For: $27 million
There are very few people who can say their bum is worth millions of dollars; J-Lo, however can say hers is worth a whopping $27 million!
Daniel Craig
Body Part Insured: Whole Body
For: $9.5 million
James Bond, aka Daniel Craig, reportedly insured his whole body for millions whilst filming the Quantum of Solace. 007 gets himself into many dangerous situations and as Craig was doing many of his own stuntsduring his second Bond film, he had his body insured.
Hopefully he took this insurance out again for the new Bond film, Spectre, as he reportedly sprained his knee whilst shooting a fight scene earlier this year.
David Beckham
Body Part Insured: Legs
For: $70 million
A footballer would struggle with his sport if anything were to happen to his legs, so in 2006,at the height of his career, football legend David Beckham had his insured for $70 million dollars – although some reports would suggest it could be as high as $100 million! Either way, this seems a rather measly amount compared to the $144 million(or £90 million)that Real Madrid insured Cristiano Ronaldo’slegs for in 2009.
Madonna
Body Part Insured: Breasts
For: $2 million
Madonna’s iconic look is an exaggerated pointed bustier that draws more than a bit of attention to her chest. But did you know that she has insured her breasts for two million dollars? No wonder she wants to draw attention to them!
These million dollar sums may seem huge, but for some celebrities this price is just too low. After becoming the face of shaving company Gillette’s ‘Legs of a Goddess’ campaign, Mariah Carey decided to have her legs insured for $1 billion!
