Have you made a promise to yourself that 2021 will be the year you broaden your movie knowledge and start brushing up on the classics? New releases are great and fun, but that shouldn’t detract from the classics. There is just something about those old school movies that still hold weight and charm even today. So, where should you start when it comes to your classic movie quest? We’ve got three movies that everyone needs to watch at least once, so these are a great place to get started.

3 Classic Movies You Have to Watch at Least Once

Casino

If you’re a fan of casino-themed movies, you’ll know there is no shortage of options. Casino-themed movies are often tied with gangsters, crime, and drama so they tend to be quite engaging. But where do you start with this particular genre? Arguably one of the best casino-themed movies of all times is Casino from 1995. It’s hard to believe this one is more than 25 years old as it feels just as exciting today as when it was released. This move is raw and drama-filled and takes a look at the relationship between Las Vegas casinos and the mafia during the 1970s and 80s. The movie has some of the top stars in it including Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone, James Woods, and Don Rickles, and has gone on to become a classic. Don’t be surprised if, after watching this movie, you have a sudden urge to hit up the casino.

Jaws

Sometimes you just want a good old-fashioned action-packed movie and, if that’s the case, you can’t go wrong with Jaws. Although this movie is approaching 50 years old, it is still just as scary and exciting as it once was. If you have a fear of the water or sharks, this one will hammer home that feeling. The movie takes place in a typical summer beach destination where a victim of a shark attack is found. The problem is that this attack has occurred close to the shores and it appears to be a large shark. It’s best to leave the rest a surprise so you can feel that rush of fear.

Rocky

Rocky was released back in 1976 and since then the title character has gone on to become a household name. Played by Sylvester Stallone, he embodied everything Rocky stood for. This is the underdog of all underdog stories. Coming from a poor upbringing, Rocky Balboa is a young man who is street smart, hasn’t had an easy life, and wants to try to make it big as a boxer. And it’s not just Rocky’s dreams and his drive that win people over – it’s his heart of gold and love for his family and friends. This is a character that lives on even today in the franchise’s expansion with the movie Creed and its subsequent sequel.

This is just a very small look at some of the classic movies that everyone needs to watch at least once in their life.
