Carnival Party Theme

Spread the love

A carnival party does require a little more adult help than most parties, but kids will have a blast.

Invitation Idea

Make the invitation look like a giant admission ticket. Cut orange construction paper into long rectangles, and cut half circles in the short sides. Put “Admit One” in large letters at the top then write the information for the party in smaller letters beneath it.

Decoration Ideas

Decorating for a carnival is easy because most of the decorations are the games. Put out helium balloons and streamers in bright colors. Put up a banner with a name for the carnival.

Craft Ideas

Have kids bring bikes or wagons, provide them with streamers and other items to decorate their bikes and wagons then let them have a parade.

Game Ideas

Give each of the kids a long roll of tickets. Make sure they have plenty to do all of the activities. Half the fun of a carnival for kids is choosing how to use their tickets, but you want to make sure they are able to do everything they would like. Set up different carnival games throughout the party area. Here are a few ideas:

• Ring toss • Darts • Bingo • Balloon stomp • Bean bag toss • Pin the nose on the Clown • Guess how many items in a jar • Fishing games

Food Ideas

Any food you would get at a carnival are great to serve at the party. Some carnival foods are cotton candy, corn dogs, pretzels, popcorn, watermelon, ice cream, and lemonade. If you want you can set up a food booth too and have the kids exchange tickets for food items.
