Club Hopping In The Northern Climates – How to look sexy and not freeze to death at New Year Parties

Spread the love

Ah, the conundrum of club hopping in that sexy little black dress. It just seems impossible to look awesome in clothes that will keep you snuggly warm. On the other hand, the sexy black mini-dress will have you freezing your butt off before you’re even out of the car all the way. Dressing to impress, while it’s only 12 degrees Fahrenheit outside is certain to seem difficult, but with a couple wise decisions, and accoutrements, you can manage to look great, and not freeze.

The first thing you need to decide on, is whether or not you want to go with a coat, or with warmer clothes. For the first, let’s hypothetically assume you’re going to go with warmer clothing instead. Observe which fabrics are warmer, aside from the usual, such as cotton, and wool; just because you want warm, doesn’t mean you have to stick with the conventional turtle neck or sweater, with jeans. Denim is a great fabric for keeping warm, and it’s always in style. Look for a denim dress with long sleeves, and a lengthy skirt. With that you can wear either tights, or sheer stockings, with high heeled boots, to make for both a sexy, and warm outfit.

Other fabrics that keep in warmth, are velvet, silk, and cotton, of course. Dresses made out of any of these, with longer skirts and sleeves can be plenty warm, and don’t require any extra weight, aside from perhaps a light jacket. High boots can be worn with shorter skirt, to keep your lower legs warm, and when coupled with tights, instead of pantyhose, can be just as warm. Other accessories aside from coats can be worn as well, such as long sleeved mini-jackets, assembled with short sleeved, or sleeveless dresses. Even light sweaters, with single buttons can be worn over some dresses, or blouses to enhance, rather than detract, from the sexiness of your outfit.

Your other major option, is instead, choosing to wear a coat; many clubs and bars have coat checks, where you can hang and leave your coat, then pick it up later, after presenting a ticket they give you when you hang your coat. Which means, if you insist on wearing that little black dress, you can wear a long coat over it. If you’re going to go with a coat, there’s always faux fur, which is just as good as real fur, –not to mention its clearer past. A long fur coat can be bulky, however, and might be more trouble than it’s worth.

If fur doesn’t do it for you, you can always choose suede, or a tough raincoat material. The low-waist length coat is popular, but for maximum warmth, and fashion, choose a coat that at least reaches mid calf. And remember to wear those high boots as well, to cover up what the coat won’t. If your dress is long, or you’re wearing pant’s for club hopping, a normal waist length coat should be fine, but it’s still a good idea to remember to go to clubs that have a coat check, and bring a light sweater with you just in case.
